From the new Executive Board 2026-2027

For many young Europeans, the future feels increasingly difficult to plan. A secure world, affordable housing and a liveable planet should not be distant ambitions. Yet, growing inequalities and political inaction leave too many people feeling that their concerns go unheard.

There are reasons for frustration, but there are also things worth defending. Hope is not the conviction that everything will turn out well, but knowing that our actions matter, even when progress is uncertain.

At EU&U, we believe in a Europe built on solidarity, equality and human dignity. That belief cannot mean unconditional support for its institutions. It means holding them accountable when their decisions contradict their values, and insisting that rights apply to everyone, not only when it is politically convenient.

Our new board begins its term in this spirit. We want to strengthen the EU&U as a community where young people can learn from one another, challenge familiar assumptions and organise around shared concerns.

On this basis, we have created three core pillars around which our overarching strategy will gravitate:

  • Strengthening our Community - Building stronger connections across teams, encouraging member participation and making our leadership more accessible and transparent.

  • Raising an even Louder Voice - Connecting European issues with young people’s concerns through critical, accessible communication.

  • Increasing Opportunities and Partnerships - Developing events and partnerships that give young Europeans meaningful opportunities to learn, connect and participate.

This new Board looks forward to building upon the success of the past, and creating something even better than what we inherited. We count on you to keep the EU&U vision relevant in such an uncertain reality. Thank you for following our newsletter, reading our stories and supporting our campaigns. We hope you will stay with us as we keep questioning what Europe is, and pushing for what it should be.
