In a time when Europe faces crisis after crisis, and when anti-democratic movements are rising across the continent and beyond, the democratic values once at the heart of the European project are being challenged. It’s no wonder that many young Europeans are questioning whether the EU is still on the right path.

Yet while over 70% of young people feel they have little or no influence over EU decision-making, the laws adopted today will define the Europe our generation inherits.

It’s time for us to reclaim the European project and shape its future.

But to make our action and involvement truly powerful, we must start by imagining what the ideal European Union should be. So, we wrote it down.

Introducing the EU&U Compass: a youth manifesto for the future of Europe.

Developed in collaboration with civil society experts and activists from across sectors, the EU&U Compass sets out seven strategic goals. Each combines an ambitious vision with concrete, actionable policy recommendations to bring it to life.

Guarantee a well-functioning democracy and strengthen participation

Tackle climate change and protect the environment

Improve education, culture, health, and social services for a resilient Europe

Create opportunities for youth employment and economic equity

Develop a sustainable, future-proof economy

Champion inclusion, advance gender equality, racial justice and LGBTIQ rights

Promote European and global solidarity

Join us to unveil the EU&U Compass on 5 November in Brussels, under the patronage of Nicolae Ștefănuță, Vice-President of the European Parliament, alongside the experts who shaped its seven chapters:

  • Eva Maria Bille, Head of Circular Economy, European Environmental Bureau

  • Dr Emmanuel Achiri, Policy and Advocacy Adviser: Migration and Policing, European Network Against Racism

  • Timea Lapsanszki, Senior Consultant in Defence, Space and Aviation, Logos & Former Foreign Affairs and Security & Defence Adviser, European Parliament

Be among the first to discover the manifesto, show your support for its vision, and engage in a dynamic debate that brings together European decision-makers and civil society.
